Death Wish

Privacy policy

Last updated 28 July 2026

Death Wish is a free game paid for by advertising, with a subscription that turns the ads off. We do not sell your personal information. This page explains what is collected, by whom, and how to stop it.

The short version

The game is free and paid for by advertising, with an optional subscription that removes the ads. There is no account to create: no email address, no password, and no name unless you type one in yourself. We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising is the one place where a third party is involved, and it is the part worth reading below.

What is stored on your device

Most of the game never leaves your phone. Your best scores, stars, achievements, chosen control scheme and settings are stored locally and are removed when you delete the app.

What is sent to our server

So that scores can appear on the global leaderboard, the app creates an anonymous guest account the first time it runs. That account is a random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, phone number or Apple ID.

  • An anonymous account identifier, generated randomly on your device and stored in the device keychain.
  • A randomly generated rider name, which is what appears on the leaderboard. You can change it.
  • Run results: score, distance, level, whether you finished or crashed, and the recorded input of the run so it can be replayed.
  • Basic technical information: which platform you are on and the app version at first launch, so we can tell which builds are misbehaving.
  • Whether you accepted these terms and how you answered the notification permission prompt.

This data is stored on servers we control and is used only to run the leaderboard and to understand whether the game is working. It is not sold, rented or shared for advertising.

Advertising

Ads in Death Wish are served by Google AdMob. To do that, Google receives information from your device, which may include your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, device model and operating system version, coarse location derived from your IP address, and how you interacted with an ad. Google uses this to select ads, to measure whether they worked, and to prevent fraud.

This counts as tracking under Apple's definition, because the advertising identifier can be used to link you across other companies' apps and websites. That is why iOS asks for your permission before it happens.

  • If you say no to the tracking prompt, the advertising identifier is not used and you get non-personalised ads. The game is otherwise identical.
  • If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will also see a consent screen before ads load, and you can change your answer at any time from the game's settings.
  • Subscribers see no ads at all, and no advertising data is collected from them.

Google is an independent controller of the data it collects this way. What it does with it is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not by this one.

The game pass subscription

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple ID. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active for your anonymous account so the game knows to switch the ads off, and that record is processed on our behalf by RevenueCat.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the reminders are scheduled entirely on your device. Nothing is sent from a server, no push token is created, and no third party is involved. You can turn them off at any time in the iOS Settings app, and the game works exactly the same without them.

Children

Death Wish is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, email us and we will delete it.

Your advertising choices

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, to withdraw tracking permission for this or any app. Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising also lets you reset or limit the advertising identifier.
  • In the game: the ad consent screen can be reopened from settings if you are somewhere that requires one.
  • Or subscribe, which removes ads and the data collection that goes with them.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To have the anonymous account and its leaderboard entries deleted from our servers, email filip@poxi.co from any address and include your rider name. We will delete it within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the information described above, and to object to how it is used. Email us and we will action it. Because the account is anonymous, we may need your rider name to find the right records.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the updated version is published here before it takes effect.
